The Story of Our Submarines by John Graham Bower takes us through a historical look at British submarine warfare in World War I. The author, a submariner himself, is fully qualified to share the story and does so in an educational, but human way. We learn about the frailties of life in the submarine service and although much of what is written here concerns the first world war, a lot of the information, especially in relation to the sailors themselves, still applies today. The student of naval history will find The Story of Our Submarines captivating and informative. I especially enjoyed the way Bower includes an emotional aspect to the men he served with.

The Story of Our Submarines By Klazon [Pseud] John Graham Bower 9781146997829 Books Reviews
I had expected a novel and found it to be merely a factual historical report. I was disappoinred. I think my attitude was flavored by my expextations instead of on it's merits as a historical record..
interesting book about a submarine and its crew
a good historical account,it has dated but was magnanimous in victory, the author handled the subject well...
If you like history, and especially naval history that involves some technical detail, this book will not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from first to last.
I found this to be a good read and enlightening. One must consider the age of this FREE edition which makes it outdated for today's technology. I enjoy reading anything regarding the NAVY and its ships/boats so worth me time to read. It is amazing the technology that has gone into submarine development but still a service that earn their extra pay.
This book was published in the 1920s and discusses the WW1 submarine war from the British point of view. The author is a British submarine commander. It is well written and intelligent story telling. The author focuses on the battle in the North Sea and life on a submarine battling the German Navy. About 200 pages. A good read.
It's a little dull, but it gives you information on WWI subs you aren't going to find in many other sources. The writer was a submariner, and he tells it like it is. It's impossible to guess how subs work and what the intricacies of submarine warfare are. The author clears a lot of that up, at least with regard to post-Victorian technology.
Bonus it's free.
